Lamenting the end of a great read.....

Sally Koslow's The Late, Lamented Molly Marx sets itself apart from recent women's fiction. For starters the protagonist, Molly Marx, is deceased at the books' beginning. It totally works, yet I can't help but wish things hadn't worked out in this way for Molly- more importantly for her daughter. Luckily, that part of the novel isn't a big focus although as a mother I found myself thinking "that poor little girl!" Who doesn't wonder what might await us on "the other side." In Koslow's version there awaits "the Duration" and we are right there with Molly as she observes the goings on of the people she left behind. Accident?Murder? Something else? We are kept guessing until the very end!! Miss you,Molly!!
